The Faculty of Education at tof Lüneburg invites applications for the aforementioned Junior Professorship (W1) in Empirical Research on Language and Education.
Your research interest lies at the interface of language and education. Using clear research designs and innovative empirical research methods, you investigate the role of language prerequisites, conditions and processes in the contexts of school and education. You promote professional and constructive discourse with leading, internationally renowned universities and create an inspiring and committed research and teaching-learning environment. Ideally, your research profile should be interdisciplinary and give evidence of:
* A profound background and expertise in the research field „Language and Education”;
* Experience in the application, conception and implementation of research projects;
* Relevant publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals;
* Experience in productive cooperation in interdisciplinary research collaborations.
You share the idea of the University as an educational community and make use of the many opportunities for research cooperation within the Faculty of Education and the entire University. You have a very good knowledge of the English language and are prepared to teach courses in English. If you have no German language skills, you are expected to be willing to acquire sufficient German language skills within a reasonable period of time.
The employment requirements are governed by § 30 (2) of the Universities Act of Lower Saxony (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz, NHG) and include:
A successfully completed university degree in psychology, educational sciences, linguistics, didactics, social sciences or another appropriate field;
A special ability to engage in independent scholarly work, as demonstrated by having received an above average grade for your doctoral degree;
A pedagogical-didactic aptitude as demonstrated by experience and the use of innovative teaching methods.
The position of junior professor (m/d/f) will be remunerated according to pay grade W1 and is initially limited to a period of three years. The position may be extended for an additional three years, subject to the availability of funds and a positive academic evaluation (in accordance with the guidelines for the mid-term evaluation of junior professors of Leuphana University of Lüneburg).
