Junior research associate (PhD candiate) with a focus on migration/integration and cultural diversity at the University Halle-Wittenberg – Application deadline 2nd April

The University Halle-Wittenberg, Faculty of Philosophy III, Institute for Pedagogy, is looking to fill a part-time position (62.5%) limited to 3 years starting as soon as possible as a Junior research associate (m-f-d) – PhD candidate The professorship in Educational Psychology with a focus on Socialization and Culture will be re-appointed on April 1st, 2020 and the department will be newly established. To strengthen the new team, we are looking for junior researchers with a background in psychology, teaching, educational science or a related discipline, who are interested in topics of migration and integration as well as dealing with cultural diversity in schools. Depending on the assignment of tasks and the fulfillment of personal requirements, remuneration is paid up to pay group 13 TV-L.

Requirements:

• Above-average academic degree in Psychology, Teaching, Educational Science or a related discipline (diploma or master)

• In-depth empirical and theoretical knowledge in the context of migration and cultural diversity

• In-depth knowledge and experience in quantitative and / or qualitative research methods

• Experience in research with cultural minorities and / or people with refugee experience, preferably children and adolescents, is desirable

Tasks:

• Participation in the research of the department on dealing with cultural diversity in education; this will include curriculum-based intervention projects and projects teacher education at university

• Targeted and continuous work on your own qualification (working towards a PhD)

• Participation in teaching (LVVO LSA), especially in teacher training in the modules of Educational Psychology and in the supervision of theses

• Adequate participation in academic services Applications from people with disabilities will be given priority if they are equally suitable and qualified.
